Green Knack Lawn Co. started with one mower, a flyer route, and a simple idea: lawn care should be reliable enough that you stop thinking about it.
How It Started
In 2016, founder Marcus Deland was mowing lawns around Seminole Heights on weekends to save up for a truck. Word of mouth turned a side hustle into a second crew, then a third. A decade later, Green Knack runs a dozen-person team across the Tampa Bay area — but the standard hasn't changed: show up when we say we will, do the work right, and answer the phone when a customer calls.
What We're Not
We're not a national franchise dispatching whoever's available that day, and we're not a guy with a truck who might not show up during busy season. We're a local company with dedicated routes, named crew leads, and a schedule built to hold.
How We Treat The Land
Tampa Bay's grass, soil, and storm season are specific to this part of Florida — and generic, one-size-fits-all lawn care doesn't work here. Every plan we build accounts for grass type, seasonal growth patterns, and the realities of a Gulf Coast climate.

Every spring, Green Knack runs a free mow-a-thon for elderly and disabled homeowners in the neighborhoods we service — no strings attached. We also sponsor a Little League team in Seminole Heights and donate cleanup services to a handful of local nonprofits each year.
